Headaches and Migraines
It still seems wild to me how many people suffer from headaches and migraines, which significantly impact our daily lives. I too, was once a regular migraine sufferer and of course was prescribed very extreme and expensive medications for them. With no relief in sight and the thought of having to take the medication I was on regularly and still be incapacitated for the day, I began to seek alternatives. And believe me, I tried everything available in the natural health world, but nothing touched the pain or relieved the symptoms in the way homeopathy did, not to mention that once I sought chronic care, they literally disappeared. So, lets delve into the world of homeopathy, add in some headache remedies and explore whether or not this modality can be of use to you or your family.

As a refresher, which we all need once in a while, Homeopathy is an "Alternative" form of medicine, which follows the core principle of "Like cures, Like", using highly diluted substances which then become highly energized remedies to treat symptoms of disease. It is crucial to note that Homeopathy, while gentle and curative as a practice, is not a replacement for conventional medicine and that you should always seek advice from your primary health practitioner when unsure.
Before I get into my top picks for remedies this is also a great time to note that all recommended remedies, when named by their source, be it plant, animal or mineral is in reference to the potentized Homeopathic remedy, not the raw form, Some of you may be reading this and thinking, why would I need to share this, well some of the non-potentized or raw form products are dangerous and harmful if ingested.

Now, on to my top remedy picks for migraines and headaches
Belladonna, which is often indicated by a throbbing, pulsing headache, which is aggravated by noise and light.
Glonoinum, which I have personally found, always works where the headache or migraine is brought on by heat or sun.
Iris Versicolor, is always useful for the extreme migraine, which has nausea, vomiting and waterbrash.
Natrum Muriaticum, is a great remedy for headaches and migraines that come on after emotional stress; receiving bad news or experiencing a bad or emotional event.
Approximately 1 in 7 adults experience migraine episodes and 96% of people will experience a headache at least once in their lifetime. And while traditionally migraines and headaches are managed well with traditional medications they can continue to be a lifelong problem if the root cause is not addressed. If you are someone who is looking for a natural option to alleviate migraines and headaches, or nip them in the bud, while avoiding the unwanted side effects of prescription or over the counter pharmaceuticals, Homeopathy is the best avenue for you. While Homeopathic principals and protocols don’t align with mainstream concepts there are studies that show that Homeopathy may reduce the intensity and pain associated with migraine headaches in both adults and children.
While as a practice, using Homeopathic remedies for acute conditions remains controversial in the medical world, I have yet to meet a patient of Homeopathy that doesn't swear by its fast and gentle relief. Keeping in mind that Homeopathic remedy selection is individual based, symptoms and the experience of them matter and no one patient will ever have the same experience of pain, Homeopathy continues to be an extremely effective option for migraine and headache relief.
